Tomorrow’s rally is another in a series that have been held in Sanford as well as, nationwide calling for justice for Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old unarmed black teen, fatally shot by George Zimmerman, 28, more than one month ago.

The rally, organized by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), also comes against the backdrop of newly released police surveillance video obtained by ABC News, which shows no apparent signs of injuries or that Zimmerman had been in a struggle for his life, as he has claimed.

On February 26, the night Martin was killed, Zimmerman told investigators he did so in self-defense.

A partial report written by one of the police officers did note the following:

‘While I was in such close contact with Zimmerman, I could oberserve that his back appeared to be wet and was covered in grass, as if he had been laying on his back on the ground. Zimmerman was also bleeding from the nose and back of his head.”

Nonetheless, attorneys for Martin believe the newly released video contradicts Zimmerman’s claims of self-defense. The video is sure to rachet up calls for Zimmeran’s arrest.

Martin’s parents, mother Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, his father, have consistently called for Zimmerman’s arrest and a trial, in order for justice to be done.

While a grand jury is scheduled to convene on April 10, special prosecutor Angela Cory, appointed to investigate the Martin case, said earlier this week, a decision could be reached before then, the L.A. Times reported.

Tomorrow’s rally will begin at 11:00 a.m., at Crooms Academy of Information Technology located at 2200 West 13th Street, Sanford, ending with a march at the Sanford Police Station.
