Jackknifed Semi Closed I-4 Westbound Lanes

The driver of a tractor trailer traveling on the I-4, lost control of the vehicle causing it to jackknife across the roadway and closing westbound lanes for more than two hours, Florida Highway Patrol said.

William O. Smith, 60 years, of Webster, Florida, was traveling westbound on the I-4 near Fairbanks in Orange County, when he lost control of the semi he was driving.  The tractor trailer jackknifed across the roadway, spilling fuel.  Westbound lanes were closed for about 2 1/2 hours, as a result of the crash.

Smith sustained minor injuries.  He has been charged with careless driving.
