There is increasing pressure and many church members are raising questions as to whether Pastor Riva Tims, former wife of the late Zachery Tims, will be returning to the New Destiny Christian Center (NDCC), the Florida megachurch which they both founded 15 years ago.
Pastor Riva took to her official Facebook page Monday to respond to the burning question many NDCC church members have been asking — if she is returning to continue the work of her husband who died suddenly last month in New York, the christianpost.com reports.
“In response to so many of your inquiries… I have gotten an overwhelming response from my New Destiny Family to come home and/or at least minister to them,” Pastor Riva wrote. “However, I have not been contacted by NDCC staff to return or to assist in the transition. I will continue to pray and cover NDCC, that the vision Zack and I birthed will continue! Thanks for all of your love and prayers.”
Many who responded to Riva Tims’ comment on her Facebook page were very supportive and in agreement with what she wrote.
Pastor Zachery Tims, Jr., 42, was found dead on August 12, in a hotel room in New York City’s Time Square. It is not clear yet what led to his sudden death, although it has been widely reported that an envelope of white powder was found in Tims’ pocket when he was found by emergency responders.
Toxicology results are expected later this week which should determine the cause of Tims’ death.
