Is EZ Harris Heading for the Slammer?

Thursday evening around 6:00 pm, EZ Harris’s campaign headquarters on 538 N.Parramore Ave. received a swat team assault operation, at his place of business. According to reports, his home and business has been under investigation for four months. Mr. Harris announced a campaign to unseat incumbent City Commissioner Daisy Lynum, District 5, at a tea party rally.

Harris was booked on charges related to the sale of hydrocodone and other prescription narcotics after the investigation with Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation. His bail had been set at $100,400, and by Friday night around 11:00 pm, he had made bail.

Jail records show he was charged with four counts: trafficking in hydrocodone, dispensing illegal drugs without a license, unlawful use of a two way radio, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Chief Demings said the arrest is based on his criminal activities and not his political affiliations.

On Saturday, Harris was interviewed at his place of business and he is challenging the police reports and investigation. It is his contention that there was a political vendetta to destroy his campaign and he will clear his name.

Nevertheless, police records indicate that there were a series of “controlled buys,” where undercover agents secure deals with Mr. Harris. One undercover agent claims that the buy totaled $160.00.

If Mr. Harris is convicted of the four court charges, he can receive a maximum sentence of 15 years. It is extremely ironic that EZ Harris’s campaign platform focused on law and order and getting drugs off the streets.

Daisy Lynum was quoted as saying, “that we need the best people running for office and not the worst.”
