Is Sen. Bill Nelson running for governor?
Nelson, who had indicated previously he wasn’t going to seek the Democratic nomination for governor, is now signaling that he might run.
Politico reports that a top aide to Nelson began calling key Democrats and donors in Florida, in an effort to gauge the level of interest in a Nelson run.Â
Should Nelson jump into the race, he would face former Governor Charlie Crist and former State Minority Leader Nan Rich in a Democratic primary.
Democrats see Gov. Rick Scott, who has consistently polled poorly, as vulnerable in the 2014 gubernatorial race.
