An inmate death was recently reported after a medical event at a Central Florida jail.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the death investigation after an inmate passed away at the hospital.
Late last year, deputies at the Falkenburg Road Jail in Tampa were alerted to an apparent medical event involving 46-year-old inmate Larue Matthew Dorsey III. Dorsey had been in custody since July 7, 2025.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue transported Dorsey from the facility, and he was taken to Brandon Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine his cause of death.
Next of kin has been notified.
