IndyCar Driver Charlie Kimball Talks Diabetes at Teen Driving Clinic

More than a hundred families will gather in Orlando this July around one cause – diabetes. The 13th annual Children with Diabetes (CWD) Friends for Life conference brings together kids with diabetes and their families to discuss the most current information in diabetes care.

At this year’s conference, Novo Nordisk partners with the Teen Driver Safety Foundation to sponsor a Teen Driving Clinic. At the clinic, IZOD IndyCar Series driver and Novo Nordisk spokesperson Charlie Kimball will offer tips to teenage drivers about managing their diabetes on-the-go.

Kimball is the first and only licensed driver with diabetes in the history of INDYCAR to race at the highest level of the Series. In addition, Charlie just received a prestigious Jefferson Award, a “Nobel Prize for Public Service,” established in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and others. The event will include a classroom session, followed by off-site driving course.
