With a year-and-a-half from opening day, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts marked another milestone with the pouring of concrete on Friday, for the 2,700-seat Walt Disney Theater stage.
Approximately 300 cubic yards of concrete was layered over 401,000 pounds of steel reinforcement.
Thirty cement trucks pumped approximately 475 tons of cement through a 200-foot hose, over the course of five hours.
The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is expected to open its doors in 18 months.
