A famous Las Vegas attraction, Area15, announced plans to expand to Orlando, bringing a new immersive art and entertainment destination to Central Florida’s tourist list. With plans calling for a 300,000-square-foot structure on 17 acres, the new Orlando location will offer more than 150,000 square feet of retail space available for lease.
The location is off Interstate 4 and close to the Orlando Premium Outlets. Area15’s second location is set to open in 2024, just before Universal Orlando Resort opens their new Epic Universe theme park in 2025.
“Area15 Orlando is the ideal city for our second location, providing an ecosystem where innovative design, best-in-class attractions, integrated storytelling, monumental art installations, extraordinary technology, and distinctive retail thrive together,” said Winston Fisher, chief executive officer of Area15.
Building more hype, a 16-foot tall robot named Mechan 11 has been placed on the Orlando property. The company says the entertainment district will feature attractions, interactive art installations, ground-breaking technology, unique retail, bars, and dining outlets.
“AREA15 looks forward to cultivating a collaborative spirit with Orlando’s creative community, as well as adding a distinctive new destination within the city’s world-famous tourism corridor. We’re all immensely energized by the possibilities our Orlando development offers,” added Michael Beneville, chief creative officer.
“The AREA15 art and entertainment complex will bring compelling jobs to the region and propel our local arts scene,” said Orange County Commissioner Nicole Wilson.
