An Osceola County man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder of his wife, domestic aggravated assault with a firearm, and domestive battery, Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies said on Tuesday.
Deputies said that, on October 11 at approximately 1:38 p.m., they responded to a residence on Pine Tree Drive in St. Cloud. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who indicated she was at her residence when her husband, William Merton Cox, 44, became upset and pulled a 9mm handgun from the dresser and threatened to kill her.
The victim covered her face with a pillow and William Cox, her husband, fired the gun close to her head. She was able to run out of the house and call 911. Deputies observed numerous firearms in the house. They also saw a bullet hole in the floor and located a bullet casing.
Cox was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail with no bond.
