Deputies on Saturday launched an investigation after human skeletal remains were found on Merritt Island.
A passer-by found the remains in a shallow body of water of the Indian River, near the West Merritt Island Causeway, on Saturday.
Homicide agents, along with the Dive Team, responded to the scene and the area was processed.
The remains have been transported to the Medical Examiner’s office for examination and identification.
