Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Grieves the Loss of One of its Own

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office recently shared with profound sadness and heavy hearts that a deputy took his own life in Tampa.

On August 29th at 5:28pm, a family member of 45-year-old Deputy Timothy White found him deceased in a vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The vehicle was located at the Tampa Fire Rescue Headquarters.

Deputy White worked with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for 15 years, most recently serving at the Hillsborough County Courthouse.

“I am devastated to learn that one of our own was suffering in silence,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “The entire Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office grieves with Deputy White’s loved ones. To anyone in crisis, please know you are not alone; help is available.”

If you or someone you know is in a crisis or considering suicide, help is just a phone call away, call the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay at 211.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office also thanked the men and women of Tampa Police Department for their support during this difficult time.
