The Florida Lottery recently announced that James Muckenthaler, of Apollo Beach, claimed a $2 million top prize from the 100X THE CASH scratch-off game.
The Hillsborough County winner chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,280,000.00.
The Central Florida man purchased his winning ticket from 7-Eleven, located at 13220 US Highway 301 South in Riverview. The retailer received a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.
He claimed his winning prize at the Lottery’s Tampa District Office.
This $10 scratch-off game offers more than $243.4 million in total cash prizes, including over 700,000 prizes ranging from $50 to $100,000 waiting to be claimed.
The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-3.49.
Scratch-off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 74 percent of ticket sales in fiscal year 2023-2024. Additionally, since inception, scratch-off games have awarded more than $63.1 billion in prizes, created 2,175 millionaires, and generated more than $19.24 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
The Florida Lottery is responsible for contributing more than $47 billion to enhance education and sending more than 983,000 students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.
