A Lakeland high school teacher was busted for being in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according the Polk County deputies.
Michael Garrison, 45, who teaches at Bartow High School, was arrested on Friday, without incident.
Undercover detectives, working on a tip, went to Garrison’s home in Lakeland. According to deputies, when he opened the front door, the smell of pot was evident and a search of his house turned up a metal grinder used to grind marijuana, a glass pipe and a small bag of marijuana.
Garrison admitted that the items belonged to him and that he had “smoked a joint earlier.”
Garrison was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail. He was released on Saturday, after posting bond – $500 on each charge.
