Here’s how your tax dollars are being wasted by Florida lawmakers

FloridaStateCapitolState lawmakers who return to the Capitol this week will mostly spend their time funding raising, at Florida taxpayers’ expense.

There will be no hearings on bills and big issues like Medicaid expansion, Common Core or “Stand Your Ground” laws.  Lawmakers will listen to staff reports on the state’s bond rating, long-range financial outlook and a petroleum restoration program, tampabay.com reports.

At least 30 fundraisers are scheduled for 61 lawmakers, and because they will be in Tallahassee during one of the nine “committee weeks” they attend between now and March 2014, when the new session opens, their expenses – gas, food, lodging etc., will be paid for by Florida taxpayers, the paper also reported.
