Helicopter Unit Discovers Pot Growing Operation in Azalea Park

A Orange County helicopter surveillance unit notified ground units of a possible outdoor pot growing operation in the Azalea Park section of Orlando on Thursday.

After a discussion with the homeowner, Asef Dyer, consent was granted and the residence was searched.

Upon searching, Deputies found 6 Cannabis plants, Greater than 20 grams of cannabis, a 12 gauge Remington 870 shotgun and a Glock 26, 9mm handgun.

Chase 4 notified POPS East units of possible Cannabis Cultivation in a back yard. POPS East units responded and made contact with a homeowner. Written and verbal consent was obtained to search the residence.
Upon searching, the following items were located: 6 Cannabis plants, Greater than 20 grams of cannabis, a 12 gauge Remington 870 shotgun and a Glock 26, 9mm handgun.

Dyer was arrested and charged with Cultivation of Cannabis, Possession of firearm during commission of a felony and possession of cannabis 20 grams.
