Halloween Shopping at GoodWill’s Bargain Prices

While many retailers anticipate the winter holiday shopping season, October is the busiest sales month for Goodwill stores nationwide because of its selection of Halloween items. Most stores have a selection of unused/unopened costumes, plus Goodwill’s regular retail items are perfect for “do-it-yourself” costumes – like a witch, Greek goddess, hippie, princess, etc. Not only does buying “recycled” costumes help reduce waste, these bargain-priced costumes save money – and all proceeds benefit clients served by Goodwill’s services.

“Shopping at Goodwill for costumes for the entire family is not only fun, it helps our friends and neighbors, too,” said Bill Oakley, CEO of Goodwill Industries of Central Florida. “Revenue from the sale of your Halloween costume funds Goodwill’s job training and career services for people in Central Florida.”

When people shop at or donate to Goodwill, they are helping people with disabilities, those who lack education or work experience, and others facing challenges to finding employment. Goodwill prepares people to work in Goodwill stores and in growing industries outside of Goodwill, such as green construction and health care.
