An Orange City police officer was shot at multiple times Wednesday morning by a man officers identified as 38-year-old Bryan Langford. Volusia County deputies and other officers were on the scene near Veterans Memorial Parkway and East Graves Avenue searching for Langford.
The injured officer, identified as Sherif el-Shami, 26, was responding to a domestic violence call when he was shot at Wednesday morning. He was taken to Fish Memorial, a couple of miles from the scene, by a fellow officer. An ambulance had been called to the scene, but that call was cancelled.
