Growing and Learning – Personally & Professionally – Through a Career in Hospitality

It’s not every day that you find a job that’s equal parts fun, challenging and rewarding … but that’s what I’ve found at Marriott Vacations Worldwide.

As an engineering lead at Marriott’s Harbour Lake in Orlando, I have the pleasure of being a part of many guests’ and Owners’ memories – day after day, year after year. Throughout my 14 years working at the resort, I’ve built hundreds of friendships with our visitors who come annually for their vacation … and I get to make that vacation memorable and special for them. And in turn, I create unforgettable memories myself, like all the ones I’ve shared with my team that feels like family.

One thing that makes working at Marriott Vacations Worldwide truly special is the way the company supports my well-being and professional growth. I’ve been able to earn many certifications through classes that were paid for by Marriott Vacations Worldwide and helped me move up in the company. The flexibility I’m offered also supports a healthy work-life balance, which is important to me.

And of course, one thing that cannot be left unmentioned about a career in the hospitality industry: the perks! During my time working at Harbour Lake, I’ve had the opportunity to go on exciting vacation experiences and stay at resorts across the world with my friends and family – all thanks to generous discounts from the company.

For anyone looking to get into the hospitality industry, I highly recommend a career with Marriott Vacations Worldwide. My best advice is to figure out what your career goals are and don’t be afraid to ask for help – if you know what you want to achieve, Marriott Vacations Worldwide can help you get there.
