Congressman Alan Grayson (D-Orlando) released a new ad on Wednesday focusing on his opponent Dan Webster’s 28-year record of extreme views on women’s issues. While the ad is critical of Webster, is does not go nearly as far as the “Taliban Dan” ad, for which Grayson suffered some negative blow back.
Grayson’s new ad states that the facts on Webster’s record are:
FACT: Webster sponsored a bill to create a form of marriage that would trap women in abusive relationships.
FACT: Webster is an advocate for a group that teaches that mothers should not work outside the home.
FACT: Webster would force victims of rape and incest to bear their attacker’s child.
The ad concludes with a narrator observing that, “Those are the facts. Don’t let Daniel Webster make the laws that we will have to live with.”
Grayson campaign spokesman, Sam Drzymala said, “Dan Webster can’t run away from his record on women’s issues. He’s spent 28-years in Tallahassee using his government position to take away women’s freedom.”
