Grayson facilitates free Federal Grants Workshop in Orlando, April 1

Congressman Alan Grayson (Florida – 9th Congressional District) invites you to attend a free FEDERAL GRANTS WORKSHOP focused on Arts and Humanities Opportunities.

What: Workshop for non-profit organizations, municipalities, higher education institutes, and other non-profit groups interested in arts and humanities grants

When: Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Where: The Ana G. Mendez University Orlando Campus, 5601 S. Semoran Boulevard (Room 106) Orlando 32822

Who: Representatives from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA.gov), the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH.gov), the Florida Humanities Council (FLAHUM.org), and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS.gov)

Details: Meet representatives from NEA, NEH, FLAHUM and IMLS. Representatives will conduct onsite presentations and live webinars. Discussions will include:

  • Overviews of the organization and grants
  • Information about upcoming grant opportunities, funding priorities, and projects of special interest to the Central Florida community
  • Explanations of grant eligibility requirements and application criteria
  • Insight and tips for navigating the federal grant application process (including use of grants.gov)

Presenters will also participate in a question-and-answer session. Attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions specific to their organizations and needs.

Congressman Grayson established a federal grants notification system, providing constituents and local organizations with information about new grant opportunities. He also hired a full-time grants coordinator in his Orlando office to help constituents identify available grants and navigate the federal grants process.

Congressman Alan Grayson represents Florida’s 9th Congressional District, which includes Osceola County, as well as parts of Orange and Polk counties. He previously served as the U.S. Representative for Florida’s 8th Congressional District in the 111th Congress.
