Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently announced the appointment of Belvin Perry Jr. to the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University Board of Trustees.
Perry is retired and previously served as a Personal Injury Attorney for Morgan & Morgan and the Chief Judge on the Ninth Judicial Circuit.
The Republican Governor noted Perry is active in his community – he has served as the Chair of the Trial Court Budget Commission, the Chair of the Florida Innocence Commission, and the President of the National Conference of Metropolitan Courts. Perry earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tuskegee University and his juris doctor from Texas Southern University.
Of course, Belvin Perry Jr. gained attention as judge of the Casey Anthony trial in Orlando.
This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
