Rick Scott’s transition office said Tuesday it’s taking submissions via Internet for ideas to make the state better and already has more than 3,000 submitted.
The Scott team is calling the Web portal Florida 2.0. It invites people to submit ideas for improving state government at www.scotttransition.com.
The idea has been done by a number of executives around the country, most notably and recently in Florida by then House Speaker Marco Rubio, who went around the state asking for ideas, and compiled a book of the best 100.
The transition noted that it’s already heard suggestions to reduce redundancies in state government, and planting wildflowers on roadsides.
“The Governor-elect is serious about getting the state to run more efficiently, for less money, while lessening the impact state government has on the lives of Floridians and businesses in the state,” said Scott spokesman Brian Burgess. “As an outsider, Rick realizes that politicians and insiders don’t have a monopoly on good ideas to improve Florida.”
