According to a recent study, an estimated 91% of Americans participate in spring cleaning – and this year, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida is rewarding Central Floridians for purging their closets.
On Saturday, March 19th, Goodwill is hosting a “Drop and Shop” event to thank donors who support the organization’s mission year-round. During operational hours on March 19th, community members who make a donation at their local retail store or Donation Xpress Center will receive a 10% off coupon to use during their next visit. Donations of shoes, jeans, women’s tops, summer wear, household linens and small appliance are strongly encouraged. Goodwill also celebrated “Shoe the World Day” on March 15th, which shed light on the importance of and need for quality footwear for people who can’t afford or don’t have access to it.
Donations allow Goodwill to provide low-cost goods to the community while also providing resources and jobs to Central Floridians. Revenue generated through sales of gently used items fund the organization’s employment placement and job skills training services, as well as its vocational rehabilitation program.
