Going, Going, Gone

Dwight Howard

After months and four teams the three time defensive player of the year Dwight Howard has been traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.

In the four-team blockbuster deal the Lakers will get Howard, Orlando acquires Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic and one protected future 1st round pick from each of the other three teams and NO. 1 draft pick from the Philadelphia, Moe Harkless.

The Philadelphia 76ers land All-Star center Andrew Bynum and the Denver Nuggets add Andre Iguodala.

There is a call with the NBA leagues front office Friday to secure the deal and make it official.

What’s even more shocking is that the Lakers will keep Pau Gasol, not sure how Mitch Kupchak does it but he always finds a way to make tremendous deals yet gives up little in the process.

The feeling is that three of the four teams got better with this deal except the Magic.

The Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets both offered better packages but the Magic front office wanted to acquire young players, draft picks and relieve cap space.

This move is going to set Orlando back a few years, the Magic fans will have to be patient like they were in the 90’s after losing Shaq.

March  12th Lakers @ Magic, make sure you circle it on your calendars.
