Bruce Antone, one of the candidates in the race for Florida House of Representatives District 46, appears to be running in another race at the same time. Well, that’s according to campaign signs he has placed around the district; Antone is also runnning for the seat of Orange County Commissioner District 6, except that’s not up for grabs.
Recall, in 2010, Antone was soundly trashed by Orange County Commissioner Tiffany Moore Russell (District 6), who was re-elected easily.
“I’m not sure if Mr. Antone is running for the Florida House of Representatives or the Orange County Commission. His signs clearly state that he’s running for both seats, so which one is it?,” said a perplexed Jason Henry who is running to represent the people of Florida House District 46.
Antone has unabashedly taped paper over the portion of his signs that state “Orange County Commission District 6.” Surely, the people of District 46 deserve better than old signs covered over with paper!
Henry continued:
“This is just another example of why Florida is in need of new leadership and new ideas. Mr. Antone is attempting to fool the residents of District 46 by using old campaign signs from his failed run for the commission in 2010. We deserve better than a politician who has run for office so much that he has an array of old campaign signs to pull from his garage.”
“Its time that we have a person who truly believes in the people and will not attempt to use them like an old campaign sign.”
“Our time for change is now and Mr. Antone is a direct representation of old, antiquated leadership, as evidenced by his tired campaign signs. I stand ready to fully commit to the good people of District 46.”
Henry and Antone, along with three other Democratic candidates will face off in an upcoming primary on August 14th.
