George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain, acquitted in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, was arrested again on Monday.
Zimmerman was arrested by Seminole County deputies and booked into the John E. Polk Corrections Facility around 1:45 p.m., following a disturbance in Apopka, according to reports. No charges are listed on the jail’s website nor is there any indication of a bail amount.
Since being acquitted of Martin’s murder last July, Zimmerman has had several brushes with law enforcement, including a domestic violence dispute with his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman.
Shellie Zimmerman filed divorce papers within a couple of months after her husband’s trail ended. In interviews, she described her estranged husband as “selfish,” saying he developed a temper and “beat her down” throughout the marriage.
