Gelber says Health Care Lawsuit is Political Frolic

Senator Dan Gelber-candidate for Florida Attorney General
Senator Dan Gelber (District 35) says that the lawsuit filed by the State of Florida challenging the constitutionality of the new health care legislation is a politically motivated one and a bad idea.   Gelber made these remarks recently in an exclusive interview with West Orlando News.

“I think it is a politically motivated lawsuit that sides on behalf of insurance companies and not on the people. I think it is a bad idea and I would not have done it, had I been the Attorney General,” Gelber said.  “It is a political frolic. It has nothing to do with helping Floridians.”

Gelber, who is in the race for Florida Attorney General, said that a lot of attention in the Attorney General’s office had been spent “on this frivolous lawsuit rather than on Medicaid fraud, or pill mill, or gang violence, or any of the many things that he ought to be focused on.”
