Average retail gasoline prices in Orlando have fallen 5.9 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.79/g yesterday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 3.5 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.87/g, according to gasoline price website OrlandoGasPrices.com.
Including the change in gas prices in Orlando during the past week, prices yesterday were 52.5 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 5.8 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has increased 0.4 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 58.4 cents per gallon higher than this day a year ago.
The price of crude oil dropped for the second time this month, and according to AAA, expect retail gasoline prices to be lower this week. The downward trend should continue with the possibility of lower prices by Memorial Day Week-end, AAA said.
