The Garden Theatre presents the Jester Theater Company production of The Foreigner, March 16-April 1 at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street). In this hilarious comedy, Englishman Charlie Baker, self-proclaimed “world’s dullest man,” and his friend Sgt. Froggy LeSueur vacation to a rural fishing lodge. Together they scheme to make Charlie appear as an exotic foreigner who can’t speak English. Soon their plan backfires as lodge guests share with Charlie their deepest secrets and most sinister plans.

The Foreigner stars Keith Smith as “the foreigner” Charlie Baker. Keith has most recently performed in The Sound of Music last season. He also performed as Freddy in Noises Off and as Simeon and Potiphar in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Don Fowler returns to the Garden Theatre as Owen after performing in The Diviners earlier this season and Noises Off last season. Other actors who have performed at the Garden Theatre include Will Hagaman, who was in Complete Works of William Shakespeare, playing the role of Ellard, and Elizabeth Murff, who was Daisy in Driving Miss Daisy, playing the role of Betty. Making their Garden Theatre debut are Bill Warriner, who co-stars as Charlie’s army buddy Froggy LeSueur, Brett Waldon as Reverend Lee, and Gemma Fearn as Catherine.

The Jester Theater Company is headed by husband-wife duo Jay and Diana Hopkins. Together they have produced several comedies since the re-opening of the Garden Theatre in 2008, including The Musical of Musicals, The Musical; Moonlight and Magnolias; Zombies from the Beyond; The Iliad, the Odyssey, and All of Greek Mythology in 99 Minutes or Less; Noises Off, and Greater Tuna.
