Deputies continue to investigate a major fight that erupted on Sunday night involving about 20 young people in a mobile trailer park near the intersection of Chief Trail and Kilbee Trail.
Around 9:17 pm on Sunday night (November 28, 2010), Orange County deputies responded to a reported shooting near the Shadow Hills Mobile Home Park in East Orange County. Investigators learned that a large fight involving as many as 20 young people had broken out. During the fracas, two young males were allegedly beaten. The father of the two beaten males came to the scene of the fight and apparently confronted those believed to be responsible for beating his sons.
Deputies learned that one of the fighters was shot by the father when he approached him in a threatening manner. After the shooting the father/shooter returned to his residence on Winding Trail in the mobile home park. Investigators made contact with the father and secured him at his residence.
At approximately 9:30 pm, investigators went to the Florida Hospital East Emergency room at 7727 Lake Underhill Road after receiving a report from an ER staff member that a young male had arrived at the hospital and was being treated for a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Investigators believe that the young man was the individual shot during the incident at the Shadow Hills Mobile Home Park.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Persons Squad and Gang Unit are questioning all those involved in the incident. It is not clear yet what were the motives for the fighting.
Deputies have not released the names of anyone involved and no charges have yet been filed.
