Fraudulent Boat Builder Arrested Again in Central Florida for Scamming Customers

A fraudulent boat builder was arrested again in Central Florida for scamming customers.

56-year-old fraudulent boat builder Jeffrey Love, of Deltona, was arrested again on charges of fraud and grand theft after scamming five customers out of more than $200,000 according to local law enforcement.

A 9-month Volusia Sheriff’s Office investigation identified similar stories from all five victims: each hired Love to build them a custom airboat, each paid him thousands, and each got nothing in return but excuses and stall tactics.

Love was already on felony probation from a previous arrest for a nearly identical scam.

In addition to his new charges of grand theft and organized scheme to defraud, Love was charged with violation of probation and driving with a suspended license.

He was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail with no bond and the investigation is continuing in an effort to recover any of the victims’ money to the extent possible.

  1. People like him will eventually file for SS benefits. What needs to happen is to have their full monthly benefit garnised and used to repay the victims.
