Four men have been arrested for shooting into an occupied home on Melbourne Avenue, off Powers Drive, on Wednesday, deputies said.
An Orange County Sheriff’s deputy heard the sound of gun shots being fired near 6009 Melbourne Avenue, then witnessed four subjects jump into a car and flee the scene around 4:00 pm today. The deputy gave chase in his cruiser, but the men ditched the vehicle and took off on foot.
A search by deputies, K-9s and a helicopter, found the four subjects hiding in a nearby wooded area. Further investigation revealed that the suspects were firing into the home on Melbourne Avenue.  All four were arrested.
Investigators are currently on the scene, trying to determine why the suspects fired into the occupied residence.
Deputies said that there were no injuries and one firearm was recovered.
The names of the suspects have not yet been released.
