Fort Walton Beach Man Claims $10,000 Prize in Billion $ Blockbuster

The Florida Lottery today announced that BILLION DOLLAR BLOCKBUSTER Scratch-Off winner, Michal D. Smith, 53, of Fort Walton Beach, claimed his $10,000 cash prize at the Florida Lottery Pensacola District Office.

Lottery officials say Smith was excited to collect his winnings. He purchased his winning ticket from Behroozi Raceway, located at 312 Miracle Strip Parkway S.W. in Fort Walton Beach.

The $20 Scratch-Off game, BILLION DOLLAR BLOCKBUSTER, offers the highest cash payout of any game in the Lottery’s 21-year history. The game features more than $1 billion in prizes. Since the game’s launch on February 24, more than $127.5 million in prizes have been awarded. The overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.98. Tickets may be purchased at any of the more than 13,000 Florida Lottery retail locations statewide.

Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $19 billion to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education.
