Alberto Cutié, a former Roman Catholic priest known for his affability and empathy, became a married man Tuesday.
Cutié left the Roman Catholic priesthood after photos of him and a woman at a Mexican beach surfaced in the South Florida media.
The County Clerk of Courts Web site noted that Cutié and a woman identified as Ruhama Buni Canellis were married by a judge Tuesday. A religious ceremony could take place within the week.
Cutié has begun the year-long process to become an ordained Episcopal priest.
