Former Congresswoman Pat Schroeder visited Winter Park High School today to discuss the importance of using language effectively. Schroeder was elected 12 consecutive times to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Today she serves as national chair of the English Speaking Union. The organization declares its mission as celebrating English as a shared language to foster global understanding and goodwill by providing educational and cultural opportunities for students, educators, and members. The group is responsible for creating summer scholarships for teachers to travel to Great Britain, fostering Shakespeare competitions, and supporting the Winter Park High School Twitter poetry contest.
