A former charter school teacher accused of having sexual relations with a 14-year-old student whom she taught, will face a judge today.
Irene Isabel Khan, 32, was charged Thurday with enticing the boy into sexual activity, sexual battery while in authority and lewd and lascivious battery, floridatoday.com reported. Khan was being held on $80,000 bond at the Brevard County Jail.
Police found numerous text messages that had been exchanged between Khan and the student. Â Police also allege Khan rented beach side hotel rooms where the two would meet for their dalliances, according to news reports.
A witness confirmed seeing Khan and the student having sexual relations in a bedroom at her apartment, investigators said.
Khan, who was a teacher at Imagine School in West Melbourne, has denied having sex relations with the student, police said.
