There was a time when many people would cringe at the thought of going into a thrift store, but boy how things have changed. With this lagging economy and thousands of people unemployed, the thrifts stores are starting to get their sexy back.
What is causing the thrift stores to be flooded with shoppers is questionable. Is it because of the affordable prices or is it the style factor?
Being a die hard thrift shopper myself, I recently asked various shoppers their reasons for choosing thrift stores and the answers just may surprise you. Some were there because of the prices, but surprisingly more than half said they were there because of the great fashions or what I like to call the style factor.
Thrift stores allow the shopper more for less; you can leave with three times as much, for a fraction of the cost. Now before you start shaking your head let me just say there is more than junk in the thrift stores–you can find brand name designer labels as well as some vintage pieces in great condition, if you take your time and are willing to look.
Style choices were another reason people chose to thrift; it’s easier to mix and match and you are less likely to see the same outfit somewhere else. In addition, you can pick up a ton of accessories and there’s nothing like having tons of accessories in your wardrobe.
Overall, thrift shopping is the latest trend in fashion. Look great, have great style and most importantly save money.
So the next time you’re headed out to shop, skip the malls and hit your local thrift shops–your wardrobe and your wallet will thank you.
To find thrift shops in you area simply Google or check the local phone books.
