A 13-year-old boy killed his brother, 6, and shot another brother, 16, before shooting himself, during an argument over food, Pasco County deputies said.
Deputies say, Kevin Pimentel, 13, killed his brother, Brady Pimentel, 6, before taking his own life, inside their mobile home in Hudson, in the 16000 block of Bachmann Avenue on Wednesday night.
Kevin also shot his older brother Trevor Pimentel, 16, who is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
“This is a horrific scene,” Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said late Wednesday. “This is a nightmare.”
During an argument over food, investigators say, Kevin retrieved a gun and started shooting. The 16-year-old called deputies for help just after 6:15 p.m.
The children’s mother, reportedly, was at work and an 18-year-old brother was not at home when the shooting occurred.
Grief counselors would be on hand on Thursday at the schools the brothers attended, Nocco said.
Hudson is about 45 miles northwest of Tampa on Florida’s Gulf coast.
