Florida’s Finest Award to Sheriff’s Deputy for Life-Saving Action of One-Year-Old

Senator Ashley Moody recently presented a Florida’s Finest Award to Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy Colt Wade whose heroic action saved the life of a one-year-old.




Following a 911 call about an unresponsive child, Deputy Wade arrived on-scene and rendered aid to the child, regaining a pulse until paramedics ultimately used Narcan to save their life. After getting a warrant to search the home, deputies discovered marijuana, cocaine, meth pills, bags containing an unknown white powdery substance and guns.

“The quick and heroic action of Putnam County Deputy Colt Wade saved the life of an innocent child,” Florida Senator Ashley Moody said. “Deputy Wade is the embodiment of courage, compassion and commitment, an example of unwavering dedication to the mission and safety of our communities, and undoubtedly one of Florida’s Finest. It was my honor to recognize his life-saving action.”
