Florida Congressman Alan Grayson (D-Orlando), on CNN Larry King Live Wednesday evening, blasted Republicans on their failure to support health care reform for all Americans.
Grayson said that Republicans were “deploying another weapon of mass distraction,” which is used from time to time to change the subject away from health care reform. He was responding specifically to the charge by Representative Michele Backman, (R-Minnesota) that, the White House was trading health care votes for judgeships.
Grayson made clear there was going to be a health care bill as, “that’s what Americans need and that’s what Americans deserve.” He derided Backman’s calls for an “independent investigation” into “corruption” by the White House, suggesting that she was doing a dis-service to the American people by not focusing on the real issue–affordable health care, that is accessible and which and covers all Americans.
