Florida Woman, 92, Shoots Neighbor’s Home After Being Denied Kiss

She was denied a kiss from her neighbor and so, a 92-year-old Fort McCoy woman took matters into her own hands, retrieved a gun and fired into the neighbor’s residence.

Helen Staudinger was arrested on Monday night and charged with aggravated assault and firing into an occupied dwelling, Marion County Sheriff’s deputies said, reports the smokinggun.com.

Investigators said, Staudinger went to her neighbor’s house, 53-year-old Dwight Bettner to speak with him, but he told her to leave.  But Staudinger told him she would only leave after he kissed her.

Bettner demurred and an argument ensued between the two.

According to deputies, Staudinger returned to her house, picked up her gun and fired into Bettner’s home.

Bettner was not seriously injured–only hit by flying debris.

Staudinger told police she was planning to “shoot his car that he loved so much.”  She was booked into the Marion County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
