63 conservative Florida State Representatives endorsed President Donald Trump’s choice for Florida Governor: Byron Donalds.
Before serving Naples in Congress, U.S. Representative Byron Donalds served in the Florida House of Representatives for District 80 (Hendry County and parts of Collier County) where he earned a reputation as a principled, results-driven conservative who stood up for parents, law enforcement, and Florida taxpayers.
The campaign stated that the 63 endorsements reflect the respect and confidence Donalds continues to command among Florida Republicans. A number of legislators were first-wave endorsers, who supported Donalds when he announced his campaign earlier this year, including State Reps. Jessica Baker, Yvette Benarroch, David Borrero, Berny Jacques, Lauren Melo, Toby Overdorf, Jenna Persons-Mulicka, Juan Carlos Porras, and Meg Weinberger.
Now, Donalds has amassed the support of 75% of the Florida House Republican Caucus. These State Representatives join President Trump, fifteen top Florida sheriffs, sixteen members of Florida’s congressional delegation, U.S. House Leadership, and leading Florida and national conservatives in endorsing Donalds for Governor.
The Republican campaign says these endorsements, Donalds’ Q3 fundraising haul, and polling showing Byron leading current and potential Republican primary opponents and leading by wide margins against Democratic opponents, cement Donalds’ position as the proven conservative fighter for Florida Governor.
Florida House Republicans offered strong praise for Byron Donalds.
“President Trump endorsed Byron Donalds for Governor for the same reason that Floridians will overwhelmingly elect him to serve as our next Governor: He will fight for our families and our state. He will make Florida government work for our people, not for himself. I am excited to endorse a true conservative champion to be our next Governor,” said Florida House Speaker Danny Perez.
“Byron Donalds is exactly the kind of leader Florida needs, a man of conviction and courage who will fight for families, protect our freedoms, and stand up for what’s right,” said Florida State Representative Jennifer Canady. “Byron has always understood that strong schools, safe communities, and parental rights are the foundation of a thriving Florida.
