Florida Senator Rick Scott urged Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate Chinese-owned surrogacy centers.
The Republican Florida Senator recently sent a letter with Senator Tom Cotton urging Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate surrogacy centers operated by foreign nationals, especially centers run by those with ties to Communist China.
The Senators noted that recent reports highlight how Communist Chinese nationals exploit the current surrogacy system and birthright citizenship laws to infiltrate the United States, while abusing newborns and U.S. surrogate mothers.
“In one instance, a single Chinese billionaire has fathered more than 100 American-born children through this process, with the explicit goal of producing male heirs who hold U.S. passports. These children will eventually be eligible to vote in American elections, access sensitive positions, or otherwise advance Beijing’s interests, all while owing their allegiance to the CCP,” the Senators’ letter stated.
In the letter, the Republicans said these actions not only exploit current immigration and citizenship laws, they also raise serious concerns whether this is a deliberate, long-term strategy.
This letter follows the introduction of Senator Rick Scott’s SAFE KIDS Act, which would prevent adversarial nations, like Communist China, from abusing the U.S. surrogacy system.
