Florida Republicans Surpass Democrats in Registered Voters Statewide

Florida Republicans now surpass Democrats by more than a million registered voters statewide.

The Republican Party of Florida is celebrating the historic surge in voter registration, widening its advantage over Democrats to more than 1.353 million voters statewide. This marks a record-setting 10-point lead and cements Florida as solid Republican territory.

For decades, Democrats relied on counties like Miami-Dade County to hold power. Republicans say now they are rewriting the map. The Florida GOP now holds a 37,000-voter lead (nearly 3 points) in Miami-Dade and a 2.15-point advantage in Hillsborough County, showing that the Republican message is resonating in every corner of the state.

“Florida Republicans are on the march. Our grassroots leaders and volunteers are delivering historic results, and voters are responding to our vision for safer communities, stronger schools, and economic growth,” said Evan Power, Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida. “Miami-Dade and Hillsborough have already fallen, and now Democrats are even on defense in Duval and Palm Beach counties. This fight is far from over, but make no mistake—Florida is red, and we’re only getting stronger.”

The Florida Democratic Party said it is making massive investments to build infrastructure and elect Democrats in 2026 and beyond.

Florida Democrats announced the hiring of staff that will run a year-round organizing program, “Pendulum.”

“Pendulum represents Chair Fried’s landmark investment in FDP’s year-round organizing program,” said Rachel Berger, Executive Director of the Florida Democratic Party. “While Florida Republicans use their power to deactivate democratic voters, purge vote-by-mail rolls, and eliminate citizen-led initiatives, Florida Democrats will continue leading year-round voter contact, volunteer training, and candidate recruitment.”

Voters will decide if the political momentum stays with Republicans. For now, the Florida GOP likes the results:
