Florida Republicans Celebrate Wins in Local Elections

Florida Republicans celebrated various wins in local elections this month.

The Republican Party of Florida congratulated a slew of candidates who secured victories in local elections across the state earlier in March. The Florida GOP said the wins were underscoring continued Republican momentum in communities large and small.

“These victories once again show that the Florida GOP will compete everywhere and win everywhere,” said Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power. “There is no race too small when it comes to fighting for our communities and advancing conservative leadership at the local level. We are proud of every candidate who stepped up to serve and grateful to the volunteers and voters who helped deliver these victories.”

The Republican Party of Florida congratulated all candidates on their victories, including:

  • Sam Ruth, Apopka City Council Seat #1
  • Diane Velazquez, Apopka City Council Seat #2
  • Linda Santiago, Belle Glade City Commission Seat A
  • Michelle Grau, Boca Raton City Council Seat A
  • Peter Noble, Greenacres City Council District 2
  • Judy Dugo, Greenacres City Council District 3
  • Lan Vaughan, Indian Rocks Beach Mayor
  • Scott Shaw, Juno Beach Town Council Seat 1
  • Bob Arrison, Kenneth City Mayor
  • Lew Campton, Palm Beach Town Council Group 1
  • Selena Samios, Royal Palm Beach Village Council
  • Scott Tate, St. Pete Beach Mayor
  • Johnny Meier, Wellington Village Council
  • Stephen Levin, Wellington Village Council Seat 3

The Republican Party of Florida said it looks forward to continuing its work with local leaders across the state to advance policies that keep the Sunshine State the nation’s leader in freedom, opportunity, and economic growth.

On the other side of politics, Florida Democrats celebrated winning a State House seat in President Donald Trump’s backyard, and a State Senate formerly held by the Republican Lt. Governor.
