The Putnam County Grand Jury heard the case of Peter Hamilton last week and handed down an indictment charging him with first-degree murder with a gun.
The Florida defendant is accused of shooting his wife in the back outside of their Welaka home on November 1st. The victim died from her injuries at the scene.
The case was investigated by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant State Attorney Jennifer Dunton will prosecute the case for the state.
Hamilton was charged with First-Degree Murder (Firearm).
