A Florida man has been charged in the brutal killing of his girlfriend, after she called out the name of her ex-husband in a drunken stupor during a sexual encounter over the weekend.
Fidel Lopez, 24, of Sunrise, is accused of murdering Maria Nemeth, 31, when he reportedly inserted several objects into her body cavities, including a beer bottle, a flatiron for the hair and both his fists and arms up to the elbows.
Police found Nemeth lying naked in a pool of blood when they arrived at the couples apartment at 11630 NW 128th Terrace and Lopez weeping over her body. There were also several chunks of bloody tissue on the floor inside a closet, according to reports.
Initially, Lopez told investigators that he and Nemeth had been drinking tequila the night before and at some point began to have ‘rough sex.’ Â He also said, she asked him to insert a beer bottle and his fists inside her vagina because ‘she enjoyed it,’ which he did.
When pressed by police, he said Nemeth was very drunk and at some point they both ended up in the closet having sex. That’s when apparently the woman called out her ex-husband’s name twice, which made him very ‘enraged,’ he also admitted.
After his outburst, Lopez returned to the closet where he found Nemeth unconscious. That’s when he inserted several objects into her vagina and anus, including a beer bottle, a flatiron and both his fists, making her bleed.
Nemeth was pronounced dead at the scene less than 30 minutes after Lopez’s initial call to police. She had worked as a leasing agent at the Colonnade Residences on NW 128th Terrace in Sunrise for the past five years, and that’s where she met Lopez.
