Miami Shores is buzzing with excitement after a lucky POWERBALL player won $214 million in the May 6th drawing.
The Florida Lottery announced that the winning ticket was purchased at Publix, located at 9050 Biscayne Boulevard.
The winning numbers for the May 6, 2024, POWERBALL drawing were: 7–23–24–56–60, and the PB number was 25.
This jackpot series contributed an impressive $13.5 million to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
The lucky POWERBALL jackpot winner, whose identity remains a mystery, has the option of receiving their winnings in 30 annual installments or as a one-time, lump-sum cash option of approximately $100.1 million. The retailer will receive a $100,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
Since joining POWERBALL in 2009, the game has generated more than $2.9 billion in contributions to education statewide. Florida is among the top-selling POWERBALL states in the country, with more than 137.1 million winning tickets totaling more than $3.74 billion in prizes, including 16 jackpot winners.
