Florida’s jobless rate, now at 8.1 percent, continues to outpace the nation’s unemployment rate which hit 7.6 percent, following record job losses in January.  Many economists predict that the U.S. unemployment rate will continue to rise, given that labor markets tend to lag the overall business cycle.
